Need Your Love (Flamingos song)

"Need Your Love" is a song by The Flamingos.

The song was recorded by one of the best doo wop groups of the '50s era, The Flamingos. It was the creation of the lead singer, Nate Nelson and arranged by the group's stellar first tenor, Johnny Carter. This last minute composition was written as a b-side for a song that was hailed as a major hit long before its release, as a consequence "Need Your Love" never was played on the radio. Its obscurity was so complete that when the group was interviewed by the CEO/Founder of The Doo Wop Hall of Fame, Lonnie Cook, (in 1995 prior to their induction into The R&B Foundation at the Hollywood Palladium) no member remembered the song. They never even sang it again after leaving the studio.

As it turns out Lonnie Cook was the lead singer of a Kansas City doo wop group called The Fandangos and upon purchase of the 45rpm flipped it and played what he considers to be the best overall doo wop ever written.

The Fandangos adopted the song as their theme song and made history by singing it over 5,000 times. No other song has ever been immortalized by another group, and that without airplay. They sang it exactly like the record. Lonnie Cook, Alvin Fant, Gerald Melton, Homer Glover, Harvey Shannon, and Eddie Wade are in the record books as a result of that accomplishment.

Need Your Love (Cheap Trick song)

Need Your Love is a song written by Rick Nielsen and Tom Petersson that was originally performed by American rock band Cheap Trick. The song appeared on Cheap Trick's 1979 album Dream Police. A live version was included on the 1978 album Cheap Trick at Budokan, which initially appeared only in Japan but eventually was in the United States in early 1979. Because Cheap Trick was immensely popular in Japan, the band's Japanese label demanded that At Budokan include three new songs. The three songs were "Ain't That a Shame", "Goodnight Now", and "Need Your Love."

The song uses a traditional hard rock formula, and does not use synthesized strings as were used on other songs on Dream Police. The musical backing to the song on Dream Police is basically a mid-tempo jam consisting of Nielsen's fancy guitar playing and Petersson's driving bass. Singer Robin Zander sings in a falsetto voice and incorporates a tremolo warble at the end of each line. Nielsen has commented that "I think it is a desperate type of tune that Robin does a great job of singing." This arrangement is put through several changes, incorporating a heavy guitar break, which stretches the length of the song more than seven and a half minutes.Ira Robbins of Trouser Press notes that the song "starts out slow and restrained, but builds to an intense boogie-based climax." Music critic Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone Magazine described the song as "a better version of the Who meets Free than Bad Company has ever managed — but that's about all it is."Mojo noted that "Need Your Love" and "Gonna Raise Hell", another song from Dream Police, "proved the Trick could do heavy, freaky rock jams as well as any of their peers."

Need Your Love (The Temper Trap song)

"Need Your Love" is the lead single from the Australian indie rock band The Temper Trap from their second studio album The Temper Trap. The single was released on 23 March 2012 in Australia as a digital download, and officially to charts on 7 May.

Music video

A music video to accompany the release of "Need Your Love" was first released onto YouTube on 13 April 2012 at a total length of three minutes and forty-eight seconds. The video parodies the movie The Karate Kid, particularly the climatic final matchup at the end of the movie.

Alaska (i/əˈlæskə/) is a U.S. state situated in the northwest extremity of the North American continent. Bordering the state to the east are the Canadian territory of Yukon and the Canadian province of British Columbia; to the north are the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas, southern parts of the Arctic Ocean. To the west and south is the Pacific Ocean, with Russia (specifically, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and Kamchatka Krai) farther west across the Bering Strait. Alaska is the largest state in the United States by area, the 3rd least populous and the least densely populated of the 50 United States. Approximately half of Alaska's residents (estimated at 738,432 by the Census Bureau in 2015) live within the Anchorage metropolitan area. Alaska's economy is dominated by the oil, natural gas, and fishing industries, resources which it has in abundance. Tourism and military bases are also a significant part of the economy.

Although it had been occupied for over ten thousand years by indigenous peoples, from the 18th century onward, European powers considered the territory of Alaska ripe for exploitation and trade. The United States purchased Alaska from the Russian Empire on March 30, 1867, for 7.2 million U.S. dollars at approximately two cents per acre ($4.74/km2). The area went through several administrative changes before becoming organized as a territory on May 11, 1912. It was admitted as the 49th state of the U.S. on January 3, 1959.

    Alaska (1944 film)

Alaska is a 1944 American crime adventure film directed by George Archainbaud. It stars Kent Taylor, Margaret Lindsay, and John Carradine.

    Plot

Gary Corbett kills a pair of claim jumpers who did likewise to his father. He is charged with murder, but cannot be taken to Juneau to stand trial until the weather permits. Marshal John Masters keeps him in town until the prisoner can be moved.

Roxie Reagan, who sings at Tom LaRue's saloon, falls in love with Corbett, but she is trapped in a loveless marriage to John Reagan, an alcoholic has-been actor. LaRue also is in love with Roxie, and he and a local judge are suspected by Corbett of being in cahoots with the claim jumpers.

LaRue tries to frame Corbett for another murder, then sets the jail on fire. John Reagan courageously comes to Corbett's rescue, losing his own life in the process. The marshal deals with LaRue, but suddenly reveals that he is the one who has been backing the murderous claim jumpers all along. Corbett manages to get the better of Masters, then sets sail for San Francisco with his bride-to-be, Roxie.

    Need Your Love

    by: Status Quo

I need your love every day
I need your love, need your love every day
I need your love, need your love, need your love
I need your love, need your love every day
    I, I need your love
    I, I see your love
And now I'm here to take it
I'm glad I've had your love
    It's not the greatest love
But it's alright with me, alright with me
I need your love every day
I need your love, need your love every day
I need your love every day
I need your love, need your love, need your love
    My nights were getting longer
    My dreams were getting old
    I wasn't getting younger
    My bed was getting cold
But it's all far behind me
    I'm a really satisfied man
    My nights were getting longer
    My dreams were getting old
    I wasn't getting younger
    My bed was getting cold
But it's all far behind me
    I'm a really satisfied man
    I, I need your love
